Research Interests

Dr. Mitchell's interests are focused on sports equipment, primarily in Computer aided design, analysis and manufacture, human performance implications for equipment design, improved standards, testing procedures and devices and novel materials and processes.

Current research activities include tennis racket power evalsuation, hollow sports ball impact phenomena, equipment design for junior players, quantifying feel in ball/implement sports and play quality, perception and fatigue using larger tennis balls.
