Sports Surface Research
The sport surfaces laboratory (portable) equipment mechanically measures player performance related safety and comfort variables including grip; shock absorbency; stability and skin friendliness. The tests investigate responses to changes in artificial turf carpets, infill materials and shock pad materials etc. Fieldwork at sporting venues enhances this laboratory work, to support the development of sports surface science and new test methods.
